INTERMIX WORLD

We are part of the international community of international, interethnic and interracial families. We have different skin colours, eye shapes, we speak different languages, believe in different deities or none but what joins us all together is the spirit of internationalism and mutual assistance.

In Russia, INTERMIX is now becoming a movement for positive perception of mixed-race people and families. We want our children to live in a friendly and equal environment. We want them to know their roots on both their fathers' and mothers' side. We want them to be proud to be the product of genes of different ethnic groups and continents.

INTERMIX is only starting its work in Moscow: we have been building links with civil society organisations and charities. Today, we can say that our movement is now of interest to many people and that the very word - INTERMIX - has become a term that means people like us.

INTERMIX can help people find their lost parents: if you watch Zhdi Menya ("Wait for Me") on the Russian TV, you will have seen the results of our work. Only over March 2009, three stories were shown about people we helped find in Nigeria and Angola

INTERMIX can let people know where to go for legal assistance. We work together with the Moscow Bureau for Human Rights.

INTERMIX can let people know where to go for professional help from psychologists who specialise in problems to do with mixed-race people.
